(EDMONTON, AB) April 14, 2025 – The United Conservative Caucus is proud to welcome a delegation of U.S. state legislators to Alberta this week as part of the Council of State Governments (CSG) Midwest visit. The visit is an opportunity to enhance Alberta’s relationship with key U.S. partners and showcase the province’s leadership in energy, agriculture, innovation, responsible economic growth, and strengthening fortress North America.
The bipartisan delegation includes legislators from Illinois, Ohio, and Minnesota, as well as senior officials from the CSG Midwestern Legislative Conference. Over the next four days, the group will meet with Alberta cabinet ministers, tour key facilities, and engage in policy roundtables focused on energy security, cross-border trade, and emerging technologies.
“This visit is a chance to strengthen Alberta’s voice in North America and deepen our ties with some of our most important economic and political partners,” said Shane Getson, Chief Government Whip and host of the delegation. “Whether it’s agriculture, energy, economic corridors, or technology, Alberta has a lot to offer—and we’re proud to welcome our American colleagues and share our story.”
Delegates will participate in meetings at the Alberta Legislature, attend Question Period, visit the University of Alberta for a roundtable on aerospace and defence, and tour Alberta’s Food Processing Development Centre in Leduc, as well as Alberta Innovates’ InnoTech and CFER facilities.
