United Conservatives deliver Christmas cheer while the NDP lands on Santa’s Naughty List

(Edmonton, AB) December 11, 2025: As Albertans trim the tree and hang their stockings, United Conservatives are wrapping up a fall legislative session with a sleigh full of wins for families, health care, and the province’s future. From protecting provincial rights to cutting wait times with a new health care model and putting kids first with stronger education and sports standards, our government scored major successes.

Outside the Legislature, Premier Danielle Smith delivered Alberta an early Christmas gift – a landmark energy deal with Ottawa that boosts exports with a new West Coast pipeline, scraps harmful federal rules, and secures Alberta’s spot as a leader in responsible resource development.

“While United Conservatives were busy growing the economy, improving healthcare, and securing Alberta’s energy future, the NDP spent the season attacking pipelines and rooting against Alberta like the Wet Bandits trying to ruin Kevin McCallister’s Christmas,” said Deputy Government Whip Tany Yao.

And as Santa always checks his list twice, it’s no surprise the NDP landed squarely on the Naughty List for their bad behaviour, lies, and offensive comments:

“When the NDP look under their tree this Christmas, they might find a reminder that Santa – and Albertans – are always paying attention,” added Yao. “And I’m willing to bet some Alberta NDP MLAs are wondering if a ‘new party leader’ belongs on their 2026 wish list.”

United Conservatives delivered. The NDP? They’ll find a lump of B.C. coal in their stocking courtesy of Canada’s largest coal producer and their unofficial senior advisor, Premier Eby.
