The UCP Government Caucus extends its best wishes to Alberta’s Muslim community during Eid al-Adha. This celebration is one of the holiest of the Muslim calendar, and marks the end of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.
Each year, Muslims across Alberta and around the world gather together to celebrate this holy occasion. Known as “the Feast of Sacrifice”, Eid al-Adha is often recognized through communal prayers and meals shared among friends and family. This is also a time for Muslims to share and donate to those less fortunate.
This occasion renews the deep spiritual ties of Muslims as exemplified through charity and other acts of kindness. During an especially challenging time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UCP Government Caucus wishes all those celebrating a blessed Eid al-Adha.
“Alberta’s Muslim community has a long and proud history. To all those celebrating across our province, Eid al-Adha Mubarak!”
Muhammad Yaseen, MLA for Calgary-North and Parliamentary Secretary of Immigration
