Scott Cyr was sworn in as Parliamentary Secretary for Transportation and Strategic Development under the Ministry of Transportation and Economic Corridors on May 21, 2026. He was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Bonnyville–Cold Lake–St. Paul in 2023, after previously serving as the MLA for Bonnyville–Cold Lake from 2015 to 2019.
Before entering public office, he worked as an accountant and in Alberta’s oil and gas industry. He holds a management degree with a double major in accounting and finance from the University of Lethbridge.
In the Legislature, he has focused on infrastructure, transportation, economic development, public safety, healthcare access, and regional growth across northern and rural Alberta. His work has included supporting strategic transportation corridors and long-term infrastructure planning tied to trade, defense, and major economic investment opportunities across the province.
Born and raised in northern Alberta, he is known for a practical, hands-on approach to public service and collaboration with municipal leaders, industry, and community organizations. He and his wife, Megan, are proud to be raising their two daughters in Cold Lake.
