The Honourable Jennifer Johnson was first elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for
Lacombe-Ponoka on May 29, 2023. She currently contributes to provincial governance as a
member of the Standing Committee on Families and Communities, the Standing Committee on
Public Accounts, and the Standing Committee on Private Bills. MLA Johnson is also the Chair
of the Public Bill committee. She is the deputy chair of Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund and
a caucus representative on the United Conservative Party board.
Before entering public service, Mrs. Johnson established a professional career as a registered
nurse and has owned and operated a successful prairie fruit orchard since 2009. She graduated
from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Additionally, Mrs.
Johnson completed her master’s in Christian leadership in 2022.
Born in Calgary, Mrs. Johnson is a mother of four grown children and a grandmother of 2. She
remains an active community leader, having served as a director with the Bentley Agricultural
Society since 2008 and as a club leader for the Bentley 4-H Multiclub.
