On May 29, 2023, Brandon was elected to represent the people of Leduc-Beaumont in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
Born in Edmonton and raised in rural Alberta, Lunty holds a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alberta. Prior to being elected, Lunty worked in public policy and intergovernmental relations for the Government of Alberta, with time spent in immigration, education, and seniors services.
Since being elected, Lunty has served as Chair of Select Special Citizen Initiative Proposal Review Committee, Chair of Standing Committee on Legislative Offices, and Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, and serves as member of the Standing Committee on Families and Communities and the Legislative Review Committee. Since May 21st, 2026 Lunty has served as the Chief Government Whip
Lunty currently resides in Leduc with his wife Chantelle. He enjoys staying active through sports and outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and boating, and has a strong interest in history and documentaries, and loves to spend time on the lake with friends and family
