Matt Jones was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-South East on April 16, 2019 and was re-elected on May 29, 2023.

Prior to his election, Mr. Jones worked as an investment banker helping Alberta based businesses with capital raises, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Mr. Jones is a CFA Charter holder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business.

Mr. Jones was sworn in as Minister of Hospital and Surgical Health Services. He previously served as the Minister of Affordability and Utilities, Minister of Children’s Services and the Minister of Jobs, Economy and Trade.
