It is no surprise that Albertans have done what Albertans do best, and that is show resilience and come together when needed most. As a result of your sacrifice and your adherence to public health guidelines our focus has been able to shift to the reopening of our economy.
Alberta’s Relaunch Strategy was developed on the advice of public health officials. The full relaunch strategy has allowed for the gradual, staged reopening of businesses, services and recreational opportunities, as they are able to reopen under health guidelines. Several safeguards will remain to keep us protected, including increased testing capacity, comprehensive contact tracing, support for those who test positive, stronger border controls and airport screening, rules and guidance for the use of masks, and strong protections for the most vulnerable.
The successful launch of the strategy will be contingent upon our continued ability to keep infection rates low and well within the capacity of our healthcare system.
Although we will have to continue to practice the physical distancing and hygiene habits that we have all adapted to over the last several months, I am confident that Albertans will continue to work together so we can slowly start to get Albertans back to work.
As the summer months approach I am sure many of you are wanting to get outdoors and enjoy what summer has to offer. With provincial parks once again open to the public and campgrounds taking reservations, I encourage you to take advantage, but do so while exercising good judgement and continue to abide by current health guidelines.
I urge you to continue to follow the recommendations made by the Government of Alberta and monitor https://www.alberta.ca/alberta-relaunch-strategy.aspx for up to date information on the government’s relaunch strategy.
As always, please feel free to reach out to my office at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
