Prior to joining the Legislative Assembly, Eric Bouchard owned and operated his restaurants, Sonoma on 9th and Sonoma Market Café, in downtown Calgary. He also worked in the hospitality industry for over thirty years in various positions, including as the food and beverage manager for Sirocco Golf Club in Foothills County.

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Eric attended Champlain College where he played college basketball. He and his wife Roxane have raised their four children in south Calgary. Eric is an avid golfer and
sports enthusiast who enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

On May 29, 2023, Eric was elected to represent the people of Calgary-Lougheed in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
