There is so much good that can be accomplished by trusting Albertans and empowering them to know how their tax dollars are spent. The Cost of Public Services Transparency Act is, at its heart, equipping Albertans with this knowledge.

This Act supports a stated principle in Budget 2021, that one of Alberta’s fiscal anchors must be normalizing the per capita cost of government services towards comparator jurisdictions. Government must work from the inside out to control its costs. This Act works from the outside in, empowering the public to better understand and support this urgent, critical need.
